I hate presidential election time

  • Feb. 28th, 2008 at 2:30 PM

Honestly, why the hell does everyone make such a big deal about it? I mean, yeah I can understand it to a degree seeing as it is out president we're trying to pick out and stuff, but to shove your view in other people's faces and to get students who have better things to be focusing on involved in all of it...that's just kind of going too far if you ask me.
I don't really pay much attention to the race myself, but from what I have noticed, Hillary and Obama are the two most likely people to possibly get voted into the white house. Now, one thing that I don't understand is why people would want Hillary in the white house, I mean, yeah I can understand some of it, but i don't think that for our financial situation that we should elect her.
We, as a country, are in debt, and going by what I've been told really far into debt, so it would be logical that we need someone in the white house who can get us on our way to getting out of debt, right? Well Hillary is about
$7,576,700 in debt herself while Obama is $1,104,693 himself. I mean, okay so Obama is in debt too...but Hillary is farther in debt than he is and she raised more money then he did...not by much, but still more then him, so what does that say about her?
Another things that bugs me is the fact that nearly all of the candidates are all "godly" and stuff. It's like they all truly believe in god and  will always believe in god, and what not. Really, where did we find these people if all of them are almost exactly the same in their beliefs? For once I'd like to see someone run for president who has their own beliefs and not those in which they think the public wants to hear. I want too see an agnostic, pagan, or even an atheist step up onto the stands and run for president, just to shake some things up. I would think it'd be great if someone who actually spoke their mind stepped up to the plate and did just that. It would be lovely if someone who didn't bend to other people's thoughts was up there talking to us and trying to get into the white house.
I'd much prefer to have a president who isn't a push over. Someone who is themselves and not someone else just for the media. I'm tired of seeing fake people stand before the cameras, smiling fake smiles and saying fake words just so they can hold some high position that makes them feel all high and mighty. I want someone to see someone who isn't afraid to tell the public that they aren't perfect and that they are human and it is possible for them to make a mistake. It would be a more then welcomed change of pace then the fakes that we have up there running right now.
I know that nothing is going to change, at least not right now, but I think that things should change...and not because they annoy me, but because having someone who can't think for themselves in office just isn't safe because they're too easily influenced.

Introduction

  • Feb. 28th, 2008 at 2:22 PM

Okay, so this is my introduction to my...journal. I may not keep up with this every day, you know, posting wise and stuff, but I'll try and see what I can do. Basically this is just here for me to rant or comment about something. I mean, yeah, that's what most journals are for...but when I say rant I mean RANT AND RAVE and when I say comment it's normally not a good thing and most journals have at least some good things in them at one point or another.
So...that's the end of my introduction, and this will most likely be the...happiest post on this thing, so enjoy it while you can...which might not be for very long.
